Mr. Adams was born on February 17, 1928 in Elberton, Georgia. A proud veteran of the United States Army, he worked for Gray Walker Tractor Company, and was founder and former chief of the Haynesville Fire Department. Mr. Adams was a member of First Baptist of Haynesville, and will be terribly missed as a husband, father, grandfather, and brother. His parents, Lawrence Burgess Adams and Myrtle Higgenbotham Adams; and siblings, Mae Brewer, Howard and Forest Wansley, Cora Hulm, Louise Dixon, and Tom, Floyd, and Leon Adams, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of sixty-four years, Betty J. Adams; children, Joey Adams (Sandy), Hawkinsville, Mike Adams (Judy), Haynesville, Cynthia Hamsley (Terry), Haynesville, and Jason Eric Adams (Karen), Perry; grandchildren, Josh and Casey Adams, Kelly Clark, Donna Barfield, Tanner Adams, Zack, Ryan, and Courtney Hamsley, Amy Caviness, and Ashley Adams; great-grandchildren, Cally Clark, Macy Irwin, Emma Adams, and Brooks Barfield; and sisters, Juanita Riddle and Eleanor Vickers.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Haynesville Baptist Church Cemetery.
