Greenville - Charles Compton Adams, 90, husband of the late Lucille White Adams, died July 11, 2011.

Born in Pickens County, he was the son of the late Bramlet B. and Anna Smith Adams. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II, serving with the 36th General Hospital in France.

Charles retired as an independent salesman for L.B. Price Company.

He was a member of Powdersville Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon. He was active in the Prison and Nursing Home Ministries.

His main goal in life was pointing the lost to Jesus.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, David Adams; Lawrence Adams; Lloyd Adams and J. Sam Adams.

He is survived by his sisters Ressie Parker and Mary Nix, of Seneca; and his sisters-in-law Mary Adams and Dot Adams, also of Seneca.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 15, 2011 at 11:00am in the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 - 7:30pm at the funeral home.
