Floyd Adams, 88, of Columbus, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010, at the Golden Living Center in Columbus. Floyd was born Oct. 24, 1922, in Norton, Kan., to John G. and Sarah S. (Allman) Adams.
On Dec. 28, 1942, Floyd married Hazel Smith in Hastings.
Survivors are: wife, Hazel Adams of Columbus; and daughter, Leta Rose Bisson of Columbus; grandchildren, Cindy Bradwell, Katrina (Rick) Ferdig, Evan (Kelli) Bisson, Vicki (Luke) Bloebaum; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Floyd attended District 84 grade school in Hall County. On Feb. 3, 1943, Floyd entered the U.S. Army and served in World War II until he was honorably discharged on Nov. 8, 1945.
He worked as a truck driver for Rapid Film for many years and later worked for Bruce Gilmore. Floyd was a member of the VFW, Platt-Duetsch Society in Grand Island, and the Heritage House Club. Floyd enjoyed collecting all types of eagles and spending time with his family.
Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, John and Sarah Adams; and sister, Alda Warren.
