J.D. Adams, 83, of Greenfield, died Monday, May 29, 2006, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin. Funeral services for Mr. Adams were held Thursday, June 1, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Greenfield. Burial followed in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Bradford. Joe Lusby officiated the services.
Mr. Adams was a farmer and attended the First Baptist Church. He was born June 15, 1922 in Greenfield to the late William Adams and Bertha Raney.
Mr. Adams is survived by his wife, Pearlie B. (Alexander) Adams of Greenfield; two sons, Dan Adams of Houston, Texas, and David Adams of Carbondale, Illinois; three sisters, Marie Usery of Greenfield, Sue Williamson of Greenfield, and Ruth A. Mitchell of Greenfield; and three granddaughters, Sonya Giannell of Mt. Prospect, Illinois, Kendra Bowie of Houston, Texas, and Natasha Adams of Atlanta, Georgia.
