St. George

Eva Lorraine Best Adams, born August 21, 1923, passed away January 7, 2015, at the Dixie Medical Center, surrounded by her family.

Lorraine was born in Centerville, Iowa, and moved to St. George when she was three years old with her Mother, Elsie Lenore Best, and her Father, Benjamin Alva Best. She attended school in St. George until she married her sweetheart, Donald H. Adams, on February 14, 1939. Together they raised three children: Penny Lorraine, Donald Rickie, and Jaime Lee.

Lorraine was a talented seamstress, great cook, and she was very creative in crafts and handiwork of all kinds. She always kept a very clean house and a well-manicured lawn. She supported her husband in his occupation as a dairy farmer in the Washington Fields.

She is survived by her children: Penny (William Bud) Stratton, Rick (Georgia) and Jaime (Kathy) Adams and a brother, Don Best of Ivins, UT. Her posterity includes 17 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, and 20 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a great-granddaughter, Amanda Bean.

Services will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2015, at 12:00 p.m. at the Spilsbury Mortuary, located at 110 South Bluff Street. A viewing will be held prior to the services at the same location from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Interment will take place in the St. George City Cemetery.
