Graveside services for Allen Archibald Acree, pioneer citizen of Habersham County, were held January 16, in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Sylvester.
Mr. Acree was born November 25, 1856 in Banks County, which was later Habersham and was prominent in church and civic affairs of that county, having served as Tax Collector for a number of years before moving to Worth County in 1905 where he was engaged in lumber business until his retirement some ten years ago.
He has made his home with his daughter, Mrs. E. L. Gammage Sr., of Cedartown, for the past several years.
He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. E. L. Gammage, Cedartown; one son, Al Acree, Madison, Fla., a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren, also two brothers, Henry Van Acree and John W. Acree, both of Texas City, Texas, and a number of nieces and nephews throughout Georgia.
