Irene E. Acra, 63, Hillcrest Addition, died at 8:15 p.m. Thursday at the Greensburg Nursing Home, after several years of failing health.
Born Feb. 13, 1917, in Guilford, Ind., she was the daughter of Henry and Carrie (Miller) Jacques. She was married July 20, 1935, in Harrison, Ohio, to C. Howard Acra, and he survives.
Also surviving are two sons: Howard Eugene and Richard Acra, both of Greensburg, and Jacquelyn C. Lister, Westport; two sisters: Mrs. Eugene (Lucille) Feinthel, Birmingham, Mich., and Lee Ruth Grubbs, Harrison, Ohio; 14 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
She lived in Greensburg for over 30 years, where she and her husband owned and operated Acra Cleaners, and where she retired a few years ago. She was a member of the Greensburg United Methodist Church, Eastern Star Lois Chapter, Business and Professional Women, Rebeccas and Beta Sigma Phi.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will be in the South Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday and after 2 p.m. Sunday.
