Billy Joe Acock Sr. 70, after a lengthy illness passed away Saturday February 14, 2009 in St. John's Hospital in Joplin MO. Bill was born December 22, 1938 in Jerico Springs MO. To Luther and Maude Acock.
Bill served his country in the Armed Forces of the United States being a member of the Air Force and was Honorably Discharged.
Bill was a Welder by trade and worked many years as a member of the Boilermakers Union.
On June 6, 1992 Bill was united in Marriage to Carmelita Lee.
Bill was an airplane enthusiast and at one time owned and piloted his own Plane.
Bill was Baptized several years ago and for the last several years preceding his death spent much time in study and devotion to the reading of the Bible.
Bill was preceded in Death by his Mother Maude and Father Luther and a Step son Rod Jackson.
Survivors include Carmelita Acock of the home and 3 children, Terry Irvin of Oklahoma, Billy Acock Jr. of California and Sherry Peck of Washington. Four Sisters, Charlotte Mobley of Jerico Springs MO., Darlene Austin of Jerico Springs MO., Pat Zazuliak of Jerico Springs MO. and Cheryl Mc Laurin of Clio S. Carolina. Three granddaughters, Brittany, Danielle, Amber. Three Stepsons & one Stepdaughter and 6 Step grand daughters and 1 Step grandson. And a host of nephews and nieces. Bill will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held Thursday night from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Brumback Funeral Home located in Jerico Springs MO.
Funeral Services will be held Friday at 2:00 P.M. at the Methodist Church in Jerico Springs MO. Pall Bearers, Billy Acock Jr. Chris Irwin, Chris Corbett, Cory Brandall, Andrew Austin, T.W. Norman.
