ACKER - Albert L., aged 91, of Merrick, NY passed away on February 7, 2014. Beloved husband of the late Annalisa C. (Lee) Acker.

Loving and Devoted Father of Leslee Mathieson (Stephen). Cherished Grandfather of Jaclyn Worytko (Steven), Thomas and Kristen.

A Veteran of US Army Air Force, Graduate of Bryant College, Former Racing Secretary at NYRA. Certified Life Underwriter at Equitable Life Assurance for over 30 years and in 1992 formed The Equitable Retiree Club of Long Island. Member of the Sunrise Yacht Club in Merrick having served as the Club's Commodore in 1983.

Services held at the N.F. Walker Funeral Home, Merrick, NY. Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart R.C. Church, North Merrick, NY. Interment at Calverton National Cemetery.

Donations to the American Parkinson Disease Association, Tucson, AZ are appreciated.
