Ravenna native Dorothy M. Blasse, 84, of Westwood Ave., Alliance, died Monday, Jan. 17, 2000, at Alliance Community Hospital.

Born Jan. 23, 1915 in Ravenna, she was the daughter of Robert E. and Minnie (Donnalley) Abel. Formerly of Phoenix, Ariz., and St. George, Utah, she moved to Alliance in 1989. She was a graduate of Ravenna High School.

Mrs. Blasse retired from Evenflo Products in Ravenna in 1970.
She attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Alliance. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary No. 166, Alliance Area Senior Citizens Center and the AARP Chapter No. 2630 in Alliance.

Survivors include her son; 2 daughters, nine grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. Her first husband, Harold G. Fish, died Oct. 27, 1966. Her second husband, Richard F. Blasse, died June 27, 1987. One grandson also died previously.

Calling hours will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home, 75 S. Union Ave., Alliance, and from noon until services Friday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Alliance. Bishops James Kirk and Louis Phelps will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Ravenna.
