ADOLPHUS ABBOTT was born in Jefferson County, Ind., May 27, 1856, and was
the third of five children born to Mark D. and Sarah A. (Hall) Abbott, the
latter a daughter of John Hall, of Jefferson County, Ind. Mark D. was a
son of William Abbott, a native of Jefferson County, Ind., where he lived
and died. Mark followed farming from boyhood; moved to Trimble County,
Ky., in 1859, and settled where our subject now resides and owns 150 acres
of land. He moved to Louisville in 1886. Adolphus came to Kentucky when
quite young, and here has since remained, and owns 130 acres of land.
February 26, 1880, he married Susie Jackson, daughter of Samuel Jackson
of Trimble County. To this union four children were born, Maud, Lolie,
Lena and Fannie. Maud is dead. Politically Mr. Abbott is a Democrat.
