Mrs. Bertha B. ABBOTT, 81, South Bend, a former Rochester resident, died Wednesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Virgil WHISMAN, South Bend, after a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Abbott was born Jan. 1, 1880, at Fulton, to George and Amanda COOK. She was married March 6, 1897, at Fulton, to Bert C. ABBOTT. She was a member of the First Evangelical U.B. church of Mishawaka.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Virgil WHISMAN, South Bend; three sons, Glenn and Arthur ABBOTT, both of Mishawaka, and Harold ABBOTT of Rochester; twelve grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Mrs. Rose EYTCHESON, South Bend; and two brothers, Ray COOK, Detroit, Mich., and Lee COOK, Bradenton, Fla. One son, Leo [ABBOTT], died in 1935. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Bubb funeral home in Mishawaka with the Rev. Wilbur WILSON officiating. Burial will be made in the Southlawn cemetery in South Bend. Friends may call at the funeral [home].
