A. K. ABBOTT DIES ON COAST
Albert K. Abbott, 53, formerly of Imlay and Sparks, died at the Southern Pacific hospital in San Francisco, Tuesday after a long illness, it was learned today.
He had served as a locomotive engineer on S.P. lines in this area for 27 years before falling ill earlier this year.
A veteran of World War I, Mr. Abbott was a member of the Reno post of the Veterans' of Foreign Wars and of the Sparks local of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.
Survivors include his widow, Christine Abbott of Sparks, a half-brother, Dan Brooks of Grants Pass Ore., and two step-children, Mrs. A. E. Cross of Sparks and Frank Obert of St. Louis, Mo.
Funeral Arangements will be announced by the Ross-Burke funeral co.
