OBITUARY - MAUDE E. ADCOCK DIES; SERVICES SET WEDNESDAY

Funeral services for Miss Maude Esma Adcock, 85, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the sanctuary of the Ramona Baptist Church. Miss Adcock, a resident of Washington County for the past 35 years, died at 6:10 p.m. Monday, at the George Sherrick home in Ramona. She had been living in the Sherrick home for the past five months and had been in failing health for several years.

The Rev. Kenneth Lay, assisted by Rev. E. E. Butts, will officiate. Interment will be made in the Tyner Cemetery, southeast of Bartlesville. The Arnold Moore Funeral Service is in charge.

Miss Adcock was born Sept 30, 1875 at Drakesville, Iowa. After the completion of her education at Drake University and Cedar Falls Teachers College in Iowa, she taught school in various communities in Iowa, Oklahoma, Arizona, and Texas for over fifteen years. She returned to Ramona thirty-five years ago following the death of her father James H. Adcock, and then moved to a farm at Copan in 1946. She was a member of the Christian Church.

Survivors include one brother, Fletcher Adcock of Ochelata; two sisters, Mrs. Grace Devine and Mrs. Florence Hatton, both of Tucson, Arizona; and several nieces and nephews, including Elwood and Delmer Adcock, both of Ramona; Mrs. Thomas C. Tate of Oglesby; and Mrs. Willis Ward of Bartlesville. She is also survived by a cousin, Mrs. Geraldine Faulkner of Dewey.
