A retired BASF Wyandotte employee with 30 years of service, he passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2008, at Ollie Steele Burden Manor.
He was 86.
Jim was born in Whistler, Ala., and a longtime resident of Baton Rouge. Jim attended LSU and proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a fighter pilot.
Preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Mary Sue Bagot; brothers, Ray and Thomas Bagot; sister, Coyle Bagot Graves; and first wife, Gloria Nurdin Bagot.
Jim is survived by his wife, Iris Vicknair Bagot, of Baton Rouge; brother, Kenneth Bagot, of Lafayette; two children, James Bagot Jr., of Baton Rouge, and Gloria Bagot Byl; and three stepchildren, Joy Kepler, of Breaux Bridge, William Gillis, of Lafayette, and Gaynell Ash, of Baton Rouge; and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family would especially like to thank Arthur Johnson for his special care.
