RITA M. MORIN JACOBS JACQUES

Rita M. Jacques joined her husband, Edward Jacques; her daughter, Kathleen; sons, Michael Kelso Jacobs and William Jacobs; her parents, Michael and Olive Morin; and brother, Roland Morin in Heaven on April 30, 2013. Rita courageously battled heart complications over the last few months.

Rita grew up in Edmundston, New Brunswick, Canada, moving to the United States in 1942. She married and raised her large family in Lawrence, MA. Rita was a lifelong career mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She could light up any room she entered with her vivacious personality. Rita often spoke in her native tongue, showing her Canadian French heritage when the opportunity arose. Most recently Rita enjoyed feeding Sarah, her pet peacock, and riding around sunny Florida on her three wheeler bicycle.

Rita is survived by her former husband, Thomas Jacobs; sons, Thomas Jacobs, John (Elisa) Jacobs, James (Janice) Jacobs; daughters, Suzanne Jacobs and her fiancée Ray Stevens all of Massachusetts, Veronica Jacobs and Joyce Jacobs (Mrs. Tom) Cross all of Florida, and Michelle Jacobs (Mrs. John) Oberlin of Ohio; brothers, Ronald Morin of Maryland, and Reggie Morin of Germany; sister, Joyce Landry of Salisbury, MA; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Family and friends may call on Friday, May 3, 2013 from 4-8:00 p.m. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, 122 Amesbury Street, Lawrence, MA.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 300 Haverhill Street, Lawrence, MA. Entombment will follow in St. Mary Immaculate Conception Chapel Mausoleum, Lawrence, MA.
