LOUIS F. AFFOLDER, 95, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Friday, June 29, 2012, at Lutheran Life Villages. Born May 19, 1917, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Louis L. and Louise (Krucken- berg) Affolder. He graduated from South Side High School, then served in the US Army as a 1st Lieutenant during WWII, where he received the Bronze Star, American Campaign Service Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal and the World War Victory Medal. He also served under General Patton at the Battle of the Bulge. He retired as a Pharmacist from Coldwater State Hospital, Coldwater, Mich. He also worked at Parkview Hospital for many years. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church and American Legion Post 47. Surviving are granddaughter, Sara Anne (Brian Brandon) Affolder of Bellevue, Mich.; great grandchildren, Joshua, Damon and Sierra Brandon; sisters, Dorothy Keeler and Perceda Blombach both of Fort Wayne; former daughter-in-law, SallieJo Maitre of Bellevue, Mich., and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Anne in 2007, they were married on July 3, 1943; son, Kenton in 2010; and sister, Anita Voelker. Service is 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2012 at St Peter's Lutheran Church, 7710 E. State Blvd., with visitation one hour prior. Rev. Steven Ahlersmeyer officiating. Visitation also from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 5, 2012 at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road. Burial in Concordia Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials to St. Peter's Lutheran Church or Fort Wayne Humane Society.
