John E. Aber, Sr., 81, of Waverly, died 9:45 p.m. Monday, September 28, 2015 in the Adena Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.
He was born October 22, 1933, in Lyndon, Ohio, to the late John Bright and Mildred White Aber. On August 13, 1957, he married the former Jean Dennewitz who survives.
Also surviving are two sons; two grandsons, all of Chillicothe; and two great grandchildren. He was predeceased by brothers, Robert and Jim Morris and a sister, Anna Hayslip.
John was a United States Navy veteran. He was a member of the Pleasant Valley Christian Union Church and attended Grist Mill Chapel. John retired from the Chillicothe VA Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, October 2, 2015 in the Grist Mill Chapel with Rev. Rich Cottrill and Rev. Rick Hartley officiating. Burial will follow in Twin Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Ware Funeral Home to help the family.
