"And He will raise you up on eagles wings,
bear you on the breath of dawn,
make you to shine like the sun,
and hold you in the palm of His hand."

Jeffery Lane Richards [age 47 years]
was born on March 16, 1965 in Eureka, CA and passed away at home on April 20, 2012. He had lived his entire life in the Eureka area, attending Franklin Elementary, Zane Jr. High and Eureka High School. Over the years, his work mostly revolved around cars and tools. He spent many years as a car mechanic at Mid City Motor World. Later, he sold tools to the local mechanics as their Matco tool dealer, receiving many regional sales awards, even in his beginning years of business. You could still find him working on cars when he could. He enjoyed helping friends with their race cars and spending time at the track. He also enjoyed hunting with friends and spending time on the family ranch. Over the years, he devoted much time to caring for the ranch animals; sometimes even bringing them home to become personal pets. He had a special place in his heart for his pets. He was a beloved son, grandson, brother, uncle and friend. He is survived by his mother, Cynthia Luttrell of Lewiston, his father, Franklin Richards of Eureka, his sister and brother-in-law, Stephanie and Mark Parenti of Rocklin, nephews Brandon and Colin Parenti of Rocklin and grandmother Betty Butler of Fortuna. He will be missed greatly. "We will be known forever by the tracks we leave" - Dakota Sioux Indian.

"Jeff was a great man and very trusting. I bought tools from him when he sold Matco tools. I was surprised to hear he was Franklin's son and so I supported him. Jeff was a prime example of what a Native American could become in a world of such opposition. Jeff made good for himself and his family and I sure enjoyed the time I spent talking with him during his sales visit's. His father is a good man and it showed in Jeff. Jeff you will be missed, I will always remember you."

*Printed on Jeff's memorial card*
I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one, I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done. I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days. I'd like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun of happy memories that I leave behind when day is done.
