Blues Musician. He was a comtemporary blues guitarist who grew up on the Texas Gulf Coast. At age 15 he was entering local dance halls and taverns. In 1955 he was playing behind Little Richard, Etta James and many others. "Someday You'll Have These Blues" in 1976 established Phillip as a blues guitarist and vocalist. He is best known for his 1959 hit single "Hello My Darling". Other recordings include: "Bottom of the Top, "Someday You'll Have These Blues" and "Tough As I Want To Be". In 2007 he released his final recording "Going Back Home". (bio by: Babe)
