Ronald E. Arnold, 80, died on Saturday, Aug. 21, 2010 at his daughter Nancy Jane's home in New Tripoli, PA.

Mr. Arnold was born in New Brunswick and attended New Brunswick High School . He has been a resident of Somerset in Franklin Township since 1951.

He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and was an avid woodworker. He took pride in showing his restored Model T in local car shows and was a member of the Somerset Big Boppers. He cherished time spent with his family and grandchildren.

He served our country faithfully in the National Guard during World War II. Mr. Arnold retired as a Maintenance Supervisor in 1991 from the Home News in New Brunswick after 40 years of service.

He was predeceased by his wife, Blanche Fallon Arnold in 1998 and his daughter, Beverly Braido in 2009. He was also predeceased by a brother, John Arnold and a sister, Minnie Russert.

Mr. Arnold is survived by his daughter, Nancy Jane Jones and her partner, Gary Fania of New Tripoli, PA. He is also survived by a brother, Robert Arnold and his wife Betty of Somerset; his grandchildren, Kimberly Drennan, Robin Ziegler, Brett Jones, and Amanda Oertner; his great grandchildren, Kaitlynne, Meaghan, Fallyn, Tori, Sophia, Patrick, and Peyton; a son in law, John Braido of Somerset; a sister in law, Betty Arnold of Indiana and a special goddaughter, Delores Greaves and many other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will begin on Thursday at 10 AM at the Gleason Funeral Home 1360 Hamilton Street in Somerset. A 10:30 AM funeral mass will be followed by entombment at Franklin Memorial Park in North Brunswick. Friends and family may call from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Wednesday at the Gleason Funeral Home.

Contributions in Mr. Arnold's name may be made to Lehigh Valley Hospice 2166 SOUTH 12TH STREET ALLENTOWN, PA 18103.
