ALEXANDER Emma M. Alexander, 87, went to the Lord on February 3, 2000, from her home in Moore, Oklahoma. Emma was born April 1, 1912, in Tecumseh, Oklahoma, to Charles and Josephine Tucker. She was one of eight children. She met and married Otto Leroy Alexander of Norman, Oklahoma in 1928. They made their home in south Oklahoma City where Otto established an auto mechanics garage where he worked for more than 40 years.
Emma and Otto have four children: Emogene Summers of Edmond, Oklahoma, Otto L. Alexander, Jr. of Oklahoma City, Yvonne Day of Oklahoma City, and Ken L. Alexander of Oklahoma City. Emma was preceded in death by her husband Otto, her brothers Guy Tucker, Gus Tucker, Olen Tucker, Archie Tucker, and Ken Tucker. She is survived by her four children, 10 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother Frank Tucker of Cave Junction, Oregon, and one sister Fern Milligan of Jefferson, Texas. Emma was a longtime member of the Capitol Hill Baptist Church. Aside from raising her family and devoting her every moment to their needs, she had a brief career at American Airlines at Will Rogers World Airport, where she was a food consultant. Emma lived a simple life, loved and raised her children, and instilled in each of them a sense of duty, responsibility, and the capacity to love deeply. Although she was small in stature, she always carried herself with a simple elegance. Whenever she was present, her energy could brighten any room and make any situation better. "Mom, you have earned your rest; but don't worry, you gave each of us all we would ever need to continue your legacy. Thank you!"
