Little is known about this family except what is found in the census. Joseph W. Algoe was the son of Alexander Algoe and Jane Welsh. He married Alice C. Menton 26 Sep 1900 in Livingston Co, IL. They came to Oklahoma after 1900 and were back in Illinois by 1920.

In a letter dated December 22, 1902 Libbie Bailey says "The Algoes have not gone [from the farm] yet."

On Oct 1 1910, Joseph Algoe is listed in the Daily Oklahoma as a party in a law suit. On Oct 22 1910 Joseph Algoe is listed in the Daily Oklahoman as a member of the Oklahoma Business Men's League.
