June Carol Lyman Agnew, of Summerville, wife of William D. Agnew, passed away May 30, 2014.

Mrs. Agnew was born June 8, 1934 in Cedar Rapids, IA, daughter of the late Glenn L. Lyman and Lucille Tatge Lyman.

Over the years, June worked in public education as a Librarian in school systems in Highland Park, IL, Rocky River, OH and Worthington, OH. Locally, she was an active member of Summerville Presbyterian Church, where she worked in the Church library, served on a ministry team, participated in Church Circle and attended Sunday School classes for many years. June was also very active in her community at Pine Forest, participated in Women's Golf Association, Garden Club and numerous card clubs including Bridge and Canasta. She also founded the Pine Forest Water Aerobics Program, serving as its leader and instructor for many years. She also was active in the local Democratic Party and volunteered in the garden at Middleton Place Plantation for fifteen years.

Survivors, including her husband of 57 years, William "Bill" Agnew; son; John Agnew and wife Deborah of Columbus, OH; daughter; Patricia Fodor and husband Steven of Lewis Center, OH; grandson; Jeff Poillon of Medina, OH; and sisters-in-law, Florence Lyman and Bette Agnew Vanier and husband Byron of Aiken, SC.

She was preceded in death by one brother; John B. Lyman.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation, June 2, 2014 from 6 to 8 o'clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home. Memorial Service will be, June 3, 2014 at 2 o'clock at Summerville Presbyterian Church, 407 S. Laurel Street, Summerville. Burial will follow at a later date in Oak Hill Cemetery, Belle Plaine, IA.
