Ardmore — Linda Sue Battice, 64, passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at Ada, Okla.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 30, 2011, at Griffin-Hillcrest Chapel, Ardmore, with Reverend Jeff Frazier officiating. Interment will follow in the Nelda Cemetery, Carter County, Okla.
Linda was born February 8, 1947, in Talihina, Okla., to Clifford Thomas and Julia (Parker) Thomas.
Linda attended the Chilocco Indian School and the Byng Nursing School. She worked as a licensed practical nurse and she worked in Oklahoma City and Ardmore at Memorial Hospital.
She also worked at the Chickasaw Clinic in Ardmore. She enjoyed cooking and sewing blankets for her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. She also loved listening to the music of Elvis, especially his gospel music, and walking.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two infant siblings; and two brothers, Wayne Thomas and Gary Thomas.
Linda is survived by one daughter, Deborah Battice of Ada, Okla.; four sons, David Battice and his wife, Gloria of Ardmore, William Marcus Battice of Shawnee, Okla., Stephen Battice and his wife, Stephanie of Cameron, Okla., and Reverend Scott Battice and his wife, Mandy of Ardmore, Okla.; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one half brother, Wilson Parker of Madill, Okla.; and close companion, Chet Underwood.
Pallbearers will be Jay Wallace, Kevin Ned, Brian Ned, Ronnie Sampson, Danny Sampson and Myron Lewis.
Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, July 29, 2011, at Griffin-Hillcrest Funeral Home, Ardmore.
