Albert LeRoy Avery, 76, of Enid OK, was born on September 3, 1934, on the Sattler Homestead near Lucien, the son of Bill and Bertha Sattler Avery, and passed away on May 20, 2011, at his residence. His family later moved to Enid where Albert attended high school. He served in the National Guard and later joined the United States Air Force where he spent time in Vietnam. After serving his country for 22 years, Albert retired and returned to Enid where he owned and operated West Side Pawn Shop and also had a home repair business. Albert was also an avid OU fan. On April 1, 1990, Albert married Reeta Marie Blaine in Medford OK. Albert remodeled their residence in Enid.

Albert is survived by his wife Reeta of the homce; sons Marlin and Russell; step-daughter Annette Hill; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter; brother Billy Joe Avery and wife Diane; and sister Karen and husband Teddie Crawford. Albert was preceded in death by his parents.

Burial was with full military rites conducted by the Silver Talon Honor Guard stationed at Vance Air Force Base in Enid.
