CHARLES EDWARD "PETE" CAIN
April 28, 1929 ~ June 14, 2003
Charles Edward "Pete" Cain, 74, Harris community, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2003, at his residence.
He was born April 28, 1929, in the Harris community. Pete married Patsy Shankles in Clarksville, Texas, on Dec. 23, 1961.
Pete drove a gas truck for Copeland Oil Company for 25 years. He enjoyed hunting and riding his 4-wheeler and was a record collector. Pete was of the Baptist faith and was a lifetime resident of the area.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Edgar and Octa Merle Dutton Cain; his sister, Ruth Inglis; and a great-grandson, Zachary Manuel.
Pete is survived by his wife, Patsy Cain, of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, James Allyn "Jimmy" and Delia Cain, Anchorage, Alaska; two daughters and sons-in-law, Charlotte and John Manuel, Idabel, and Kelley and Chip Thompson, Iron Stob community;
Eight grandchildren and their spouses, Kerry "JR" and Jessica Manuel, Mauriceville, Texas, Andy and Kristi Manuel, Idabel, Jackye Manuel, Idabel, Brandon and Jodi Cain, Jasper, Texas, Clint Cain and Cody Cain, both of Flippin, Ark., and Hank Thompson and Haley Thompson, both of the Iron Stob community; three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday, June 16, 2003, at Norwood, Coffey-Leonard Chapel, Idabel. Interment followed in Harris Cemetery with Bro. Thomas Cockerham officiating.
The family received friends on Sunday.
