Cecil was born at Carnegie, Oklahoma to Leander and Elizabeth Janz on February 20, 1923. He married to Anna Unruh in 1943 at the Greenfield Mennonite Church by Rev. Rudolph Schmidt. They have two sons, Dewey, with his wife Cathy of Duncan, and Randy of the home.

Cecil held numerous jobs in Oklahoma including working for many years on his uncle's farm, 36 years of driving a cement truck and asphalt plant manager for Lawton Transit Mix in Lawton, and after his retirement, spending 16 years mowing lawns in Duncan.

He was always ready to help people in need and he loved his family. He truly enjoyed giving rides to the grandchildren and great-grandchildren on his scooter. He also liked fishing and camping, planting a garden, and going to church. Cecil was of the Mennonite faith but spent most of his time as an Associate member of the FreeWill Baptist where he was a Deacon for many years.

Cecil is survived by his wife, Anna, of the home, son Dewey and wife Cathy of Duncan, son Randy of the home, four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Martin with his wife Ellen, and Raymond and his wife Ruth and a sister, Elda Vorpagel. Cecil was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Bobby and Lewie.

Pallbearers will be grandsons Joshua, Christopher, Justin, and Bryan, nephew Joe Janz, and family member Casey Wyatt.
