R.H. Brians, 69, was the son of Samuel and Ann Crawford Brians. He moved to Indian Territory, from Texas where he had lived for three years in 1894, and was a resident of Ada, Pontotoc Co. OK since 1924.
He married Mary Malsie Wheat, Nov. 21, 1900 in Hughes Co. They had four children: Wilbert, Vern, Lee and Lois Brians.
He was first a breeder of registered stock, a farmer and later was a miller at Ada Alfalfa Milling Co. for several years. He became a stone mason in his later years and worked on jobs in Enid and Chickasha. He did pecan grafting as a hobby and he developed many trees on a farm near Atwood. Pistol shooting was also a hobby, and he was a crack shot with a .22 pistol. He liked to squirrel hunt with his son.
He died after being stricken at his home, apparently from his heart. Survivors: Mrs. Mary M. Brians, his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Lois Markham, Ponca City; three sons: Vernis of Purcell, Lee of Denver, CO; and Wilbert of St. Louis MO; a sister, Mrs. Albert Gilbert, Westmoreland, CA; brothers, Horace of Non; Albert of OKC and Luke of Calif.
The funeral will be held Wed. at 2 PM at the Free Will Baptist Chruch at Non, with burial at Gerty.
