Fred Lawrence Aber, was born near the town of Tennessee, McDonough County, Illinois, on the first day of August, 1877, and died at the home of his brother, Luther H. Aber, in El Reno, Oklahoma, on December 16, 1929 after a short illness of pneumonia. He left surviving him, his two brothers, Luther H. Aber and Orval E. Aber, of El Reno, Oklahoma; two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Brown of Claremore, Oklahoma and Mamie B. Henderson of Oklahoma City, Okla., a son, Donavan E. Aber, together with several nephews and nieces and a host of friends
He came with his parents from Illinois to the Indian Territory in November 1889 and located on the C.B. Campbell ranch north of the town of Minco, where they resided for about six years, removing from there to a farm on Cole Creek, east of the present town of Tuttle, where they resided about six years, returning to Minco in the year 1901 where he resided to the time of his death. He united in marriage to Miss Susie Blevins in Minco, Oklahoma in the year 1902, with whom he lived until the year 1919, at which time she died. No children were born to this union, but they adopted a son Donavan E. Aber in his early infancy and to whom Mr. Aber has been a father in the fullest sense of the word. His parents Mr. . John W. Aber and Mrs. Mary E. Aber, preceded him in death.
He served for a number of years as a member of the board of trustees of the town of Minco, and was foremost in every enterprise tending at the up building of his town and community.
In his passing his son has list a kind and indulgent father, his brothers and sisters a loyal and loving brother, his nephews and nieces a safe and wise counselor and his friends a devoted and valued neighbor, and this community an honored and respected citizen.
Funeral services were conducted in First Baptist church in Minco by Rev. Barker Wednesday afternoon. Burial was buried in the Evergreen Cemetery.
