Katie Haag Fixico, 72, of Seminole, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 in Seminole.
She was born May 18, 1936 in Concho, Okla. to Mac Haag, Sr. and Mary (Black) Haag. She was an enrolled member of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes of Oklahoma. Katie was a member of New Hope Fellowship in Cromwell, Okla. She touched many lives with her singing and was a shining example of God's love.
She is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Alex Warden, Sr., Mac Haag, Jr., and Rollin Haag; and one sister, Maurine Charcoal.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Rev. Thomas J. Fixico, Sr. of the home; five sons, Marlon Fixico of Washington, DC, Edmond Fixico and wife, Mariam of Parshall, ND, Thomas, Jr and wife, Lisa of Shawnee, Lorne Fixico of Shawnee, Jerrald Fixico and wife, Amy of Seminole; two daughters, Maurine Fixico of Oklahoma City, and Beverly Mason and husband, Rusty of New Town, ND; 19 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Leah Scott and her husband, Wilson, Sr. of Oklahoma City; also many nieces and nephews and many other family and friends.
Wake service will be held 7 pm at New Hope Fellowship in Cromwell on Friday, April 24, 2009. Service will be held 10 am Saturday, April 25 at New Hope Fellowship with Thomas Little, Allen Mukes, and Larry Harrison officiating and directly following services a service will be held at 2 pm in Concho, Okla, at the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribal Community Hall with Jay Swallow and Delfred White Crow officiating. Burial will follow at Concho Tribal Cemetery.
