Carlotta Kaulay Ahtone 80, was called to her heavenly home on Wednesday, May 27, 2015.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 1, 2015, at Comanche Nation Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Andrew "Sonny" Ware and the Rev. Kenric Boyiddle officiating.
Carlotta was born May 1, 1935, in Lawton, to Laura Jones and James Kaulay. She was a proud member of the Kiowa Tribe, and was raised in the Meers Community. She liked to recall her days of riding her pony around Medicine Creek. She graduated from Riverside Indian School in 1953. She was a skilled and caring nurse, working for Indian Health Service until retirement. She was loved by all who knew her and she will be greatly missed. She was a descendant of I-See-O. Her grandparents on her father's side were Calvin Kay-lay and Stella Kau-pi. On her mother's side was Guo-la "Tommy" Jones and To-mah "Helen Twohatchet."
Surviving sons are: Tom Harry, of the home; Mark Harry, of Tulsa; and grandchildren: James and Joseph Harry, of Tulsa; and Jeremie, Alicia, Michael and Carly Harry, of Lawton. She loved all her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents: James Kaulay and Laura Jones; brothers: Paul, Conrad, Ralph Sr. and Sam Kaulay; and sisters: Patricia Kaulay and Pearl Meeks.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Meeks, Matt Meeks, Mike Meeks, Mark Harry, Sammy Dunlap and Ernest Red Bird.
Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 31, 2015, at the funeral home.
