Ketha J. Bollinger, 73, of McAlester, died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2006, at a local nursing center. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Bishop Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Calvin Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service of McAlester. Born May 10, 1933, in Calvin, she was the daughter of Harvey A. and Eva Alva White Bollinger. She graduated from Calvin High School and then attended the University of Oklahoma where she received her masters degree in business administration. In her career in education, she taught typing and shorthand at Midwest City High School and then held positions at the University of Oklahoma, the Oklahoma Archaeological Society and the University's Continuing Education Center. She lived in the Norman area for most of her life, moving to McAlester in 1996 to take care of her mother. Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Harvey K. and Sue Bollinger, of McAlester; two nephews, Mike Bollinger and wife, D'Ann, of Blanchard, and Brad Bollinger and wife, Natalye, Allen, Texas, and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Brooke and Beth Bollinger, of Blanchard, and Zachary and Mackenzie Bollinger, Allen, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey A. and Eva Bollinger.
