The family moved from KY to IL sometime before the 1870 Census, and located near Abraham's uncle, Jonathan. Their son, John David, records that the family moved to avoid the possible Civil War. Before 1874, the family moved to MO. While in MO, Abraham obtained a patent (#275,328) for a bee-hive improvement. Sometime after 1887, Abraham, Charlotte, John, Alexander, and their families moved to OK. It would be surmised that they left MO for the great land rush, which began in April 1889.
It would be logical, that his middle name would be France, his mother's maiden name, but in all of Abraham's documents, he was only, Abraham F. Combs. There was a grandchild named, Abraham France Combs, son of John David, which helps the argument.

ABRAHAM OBITUARY:
"At home near Avoca, Pottawatomie county, Okla., Oct. 12th, 1895. Brother Abraham COMBS, aged 73 years 7 months and 18 days. The deceased was born in Muhlenburg county Kentucky, Feb. 24th, 1822, was converted and joined the Baptist church in the year 1874. When he died was a member of the new Hope Baptist church. Brother COMBS was an exemplary Christian, a faithful husband, a kind and loving father and good neighbor. In his death the church has lost a worthy member; our loss is his eternal gain. Brother COMBS died in the triumph of a living faith and in hope of a glorious immortality. A host of friends besides his family mourn his lost." REF: Tecumseh Herald, Tecumseh, Oklahoma Territory, Vol 5, No 11 edition, 21-Dec-1895.

ABRAHAM CEMETERY MARKER:
Died at 73 yrs, 8 mos. "Weep not for thy dear husband for only a few days there will be a happy reunion where parting will be no more." It is a bronze marker with a Masonic emblem. The marker also has his birth date as 12-Feb-1822, and his death date as 12-Oct-1895. REF: Book in SLC Library.
This birth date could not be correct since his parents were married in 1824, and all of the census records indicate that 1825 should be accurate. Another indication that the birth year could be incorrect is that fact that Charlotte seemed to have trouble with numbers, i.e. she is aging more than 10 years between census reports, and she also seems to have a problem with remembering how many children she had. Charlotte says in the 1900 Census that she was the mother of 7 children and that 3 are living, and in 1910 she says that she was the mother of 4 and that 3 are living.
