Irene Green Brumley
Irene Green Brumley passed away at the family home twelve miles south of Carnegie Thursday morning, Jan. 21, 1932. Her untimely death was attributed to typhoid fever it is said. She had been ill about two weeks.
Her passing was indeed sorrowful since it has been less than a month that her sister, Helen, was laid to rest.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Union church at Alden, services being conducted by Rev. Morris, pastor, and interment was made in the Alden cemetery by the side of her sister.
Irene Green Brumley was born in Missouri November 19, 1916. She passed away at the age of 15 years, 2 months and 2 days. She leaves her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.B. Brumley, three sisters, Marjorie, Lorene and Corine, and two brothers, Kenneth and Homer. Her sister, Helen, died December 25, 1931. Her father was unable to attend the funeral because of two other cases of sickness in the home.
Active pallbearers who were class mates and friends of the deceased were: Yvonne and Eileen Jones, Thelma Hale, Vivian Smith, Sadie Wise and Zelma Bowlin.
