Mrs. Edith Althauser

Mrs. Edith K Althauser, 84 of 931 Althauser Avenue and widow of John C Althause, died at the home Wednesday afternoon following a lingering ilness. The body is at the Egelhof Funeral Home where services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Arnold C Buol will officiate and burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.

Mrs. Althauser was born on August 13, 1859 at Independence, Ia., a daughter of the late Louis and Lucy Soener. She was married on Sept. 21, 1881, coming to Dubuque at that time and living here since. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Ladies' Aid Society.

Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Edna Clymer, Dubuque; two grandsons, Lieut. John Althauser Clymer of the U.S. Army, San Francisco, Calif., and Ensign Louis Ralph Clymer of the U.S. Navy; one sister Miss Lilly Soener, Independence, Ia., and two brothers George and Charles Soener, Independence.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother Louis Soener and two sisters, Mrs. P.A. Sutkamp and Mrs. Ed Munz, all of Independence.
