Darley John Agnew, 76
Services were Thursday in Glenwood for Darley John Agnew, 76, of Pacific Junction. He died last Monday in Glenwood. Agnew was born on July 29, 1908 in Adams County, the son of Floyd and Pearl McKisson Agnew. He received his early education in the Nodaway school system. Agnew married Ruby Reynolds on May 15, 1929 in Shenandoah, Iowa. In 1946 the Agnews moved from the Nodaway and Villisca areas to Pacific Junction, where they have lived since.
Agnew was a long-time railroad foreman and was active in the Pacific Junction community, serving as mayor, city councilman, and a member of the board of education. He was also a member of the Pacific Junction United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Ruby; a daughter, Phyllis Fisher of Pacific Junction; one son, James of Marshalltown; three halfbrothers, Harold of Glenwood, Tom of Warrensburg, Mo. and David of Nodaway; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Merle and Wayne.
Services were at the Pacific Junction United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gene Crossett officiating. Interment was at Nodaway Cemetery.
