Frank M. De Graaf passed away very suddenly at his home on Saturday, July 16, 1966. Death was attributed to a heart attack by attending physician, Dr. E. B. Grossman of Orange City.
He was born January 3, 1909 on a farm near Newkirk, the son of Bertha Vande Berg and Peter F. De Graaf. He reached the age of 57 years, 6 months and 13 days.
On April 4, 1935, he married Gertrude Vander Pol. To this union two sons were born. One infant son, Franklin Dale preceded him in death.
Mr. De Graaf was a farmer in the Newkirk vicinity until approxmately four years ago when he retired. He was a member of the Newkirk Reformed church, serving on the consistory for many years and also as Sunday school Superintendant. He was a member of the Farmers Co-op Oil; Board at Sheldon and also served on the Newkirk and Floyd Valley school boards.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 19 at the Newkirk Reformed church with the Reverend John M. Smith and the Reverend Clarence Greving officiating.
Interment was in the Newkirk cemetery with the Van Etten Funeral home in charge of the arrangements.
