Ethel Irene Barrell

Ethel Irene Barrell, 68, a resident of Centerville 54 years, who resided at 1327 Haynes Avenue, died in Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines Sunday, January 6, 1980. She had been ill three years, and a hospital patient two and a half weeks.

Born July 14,1911, in Cincinnati, she was the daughter of George and Mae VanBlaricom Hamm. On July 16, 1927, she was married to Artie Barrell in Centerville, and he survives.

Mrs. Barrell was a member of Drake Avenue Christian Church in Centerville.

Her parents and two brothers, Olan Hamm and Carl Hamm, preceded her in death.

Survivors besides her husband include two daughters, Mrs. John (Marilyn Jill) Radermacher, Burnsville, Minn.; and Mrs. Donald (Connie Mae) Peterson, Rogers, Ark.; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; one brother, George Hamm, Marana, Ariz.; and two sisters, Opal Close, Centerville, and Linnie Cooper, Mystic.

Services will be Wednesday, 1:30 p.m., at Miller-Wehrle Funeral Home, with Dr. Charles Bare officiating. Burial will be in Jerome Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m.
