Matthew L Arterberry, 12, of Benson, Illinois, died February 18, 1996, at St Francis Medical Center in Peoria of natural causes. Funeral services were held at 1:30 pm Thursday at Carson & Son Funeral Home, Maquoketa, with the Rev Wayne Nelson of St Paul's United Church of Christ in Minonk, Illinois, officiating. Burial was in the Hickory Grove Cemetery, rural Maquoketa, with his grandfather, Levi Arterberry Jr. Visitation was 4-8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
Matthew was born February 2, 1984, Iowa City, to Gary & Lori Peiffer Arterberry. He was a 6th grade student at Keifer Elementary School in Peoria. He was active in Tae Kwo Do & RBRA Summer baseball league in Benson. He enjoyed electronics, models, pets,& animals. He is survived by his parents, Gary & Lori Peiffer Arterberry of Benson, Ill. formerly of Maquoketa, a brother, Nicholas Arterberry at home, grandparents, Mrs Donna (Levi JR) Arterberry of Maquoketa, & Nicholas & Patricia Peiffer of Mononk, Illinois, great-grandparents, Mrs Bernice McCarty & Sybil Wallroff of Maquoketa & Mrs John Peiffer of Onslow. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers.
