Obituary
Unionville Republican
Unionville, MO
On Thursday December 14, 1882 J. J. Conn died at Allerton, Wayne county, Iowa aged 41 years. Mr. Conn was a native of Ohio but spent the greater part of his life in Putnam county, Mo. He was a member of Capt. Heinstreets Co. of the 18th MO. Veterans and the survivors of that heroic band bear testimony to his patriotism and bravery.
After his discharge from the Army Mr. Conn with his wife took up their residence in York township and for fifteen years they lived among our number. Two years ago Mrs. Conn died suddenly after which Mr. Conn great grief seemed to erode his buoyant spirit.
