A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. David Amstutz, Sunday, January 20, 1918, but it did not live. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Vanderlip at the home Monday afternoon.

Born and died:-Monday morning, January 21, 1918, Vernon, little son of Mr. and Mrs. D.O. Amstutz, of near Ransom. A particularly appropriate and comforting discourse was delivered at the home, that afternoon, by Rev. Vanderlip, of Ransom, who conducted the funeral service, in the presence of relatives and a few friends. Interment was made in the Ransom cemetery. The sympathy of many friends goes out to the parents in their bereavement.
