Mildred Archey

Mildred Archey, 91, of Cadillac, died Friday, Aug. 10, 2001, after a short illness.

Born March 29, 1910, in Manton as Mildred Bredahl, she married Everett Perry and later Frank Archey, both of whom preceded her in death.


Mildred was a graduate of Michigan State University and taught school in Manton, Mesick, and Alma and for 23 years in Shepherd. She retired in 1971 with 33 years in education. She spent many winters in Lake Wales, Fla., and served as registrar and admissions officer at Warner Southern College. She had been a resident of Cadillac since 1978 and enjoyed painting, playing Scrabble, the Scandinavian Club, her church and family.


Mildred is survived by two sons, Richard (Sharon) Perry of Cadillac and Bruce (Lynnett) Perry of St. Louis; a brother, Homer Bredahl of Cadillac; two sisters, Vivian Taylor of East Lansing and Viberta Jeffers of Cadillac; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.


Preceding her in death were her two husbands, three brothers and two sisters.


Funeral services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Hall Funeral Chapel in Manton. Burial will be in Liberty Township Cemetery in Manton. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Michigan.
