Richard P. Bedore, 87, a former Damar resident, died Tuesday, May 20, 2003, at Infinia Care Home, Abilene.

He was born May 9, 1916, in Zurich to Leo and Anna (Rempe) Bedore.

He married Evelyn Opal Stithem on Nov. 19, 1936, in Zurich. He retired after 35 years with the Rooks County road department.

Survivors include his wife, Hill City; four sons; a daughter; two brothers; four sisters; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Damar; burial in Pleasant View Cemetery, Palco.

A Christian wake service will be at 7:30 p.m. today at the church. Visitation will be until 6 p.m. today at Spencer-Stinemetz Funeral Chapel, Hill City, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to the St. Joseph Catholic Church building and renovation fund or Masses.
