Mrs. Virginia Kelley Bauknight, 91, wife of the late Wilfred Bauknight, died Wednesday evening, March 17, 2004, at Arbor Acres. A native of Tennessee and a graduate of Memphis State University, she was a former teacher and a member of Maple Springs United Methodist Church. Mrs. Bauknight's family includes her son, the Rev. Dr. Brian Bauknight and his wife, Elaine, of Pittsburgh, Pa.; her daughter, Mrs. Vanita Oelschlager and her husband, Jim, of Akron, Ohio; her daughter, Mrs. Clarice Roth and her husband, Larry, of Winston-Salem; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 28, in the fellowship hall at Arbor Acres, 1244 Arbor Road. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Arbor Acres Mother's Day Fund, AIDS Care Service of Winston-Salem or the Methodist church of the donor's choice. Family members thank the friends who brightened Mrs. Bauknight's last years with visits, letters and prayers. Special thanks to her devoted physician and friend, Dr. W. Vaughn McCall.
