Robert E. Arbuthnot was born November 1, 1919, the son of Earl and Blanche Sheesley Arbuthnot, and died October 21, 1988, at the age of 68 years, 11 months, 21 days.
He attended Blocker Grade School, Haddam High School and Kansas State University.
He married Jeaane Clark of Salina May 31, 1942 and to them were born two children.
He served in the Air Force during World War II as a bomber pilot.
He farmed and raised cattle in the Haddam community.
He was a 63 district representative in the Kansas Legislature for 14 years, worked for the Kansas Trial Lawyers Association as a lobbyist, and served as a member of the Kansas State Board of Agriculture.
He is survived by: his wife, Jeaane; a son, Rodney R. of Mahaska; daughter, Mrs. Jay (Cindy) Brown of Junction City; two grandson, Rob Arbuthnot, Jason Brown; two sisters, Mabel Carpenter of Palmer Lake, Colo., Mrs. Hugh (Mary) Nevins of Monument, Colo.; a brother, Warren of Dumas, Tex..
Funeral services were held October 25 in Haddam City Cemetery, Rev. Andy Torres officiating.
