Ulysses Grant Albertson was born at Langworthy, Jones County, Iowa, October 31, 1862, and departed from this life at his home in Delphos, Kansas, March 7, 1923 aged 60 years, four months and seven days.

The deceased grew to young manhood near Langworthy, and on July 4, 1882, was united in marriage to Miss Catherine Allen, of that place.

To this union were born the children, Clark D., who died October 24, 1907, Nellie Albertson Kiser, who resides near Delphos, and Gladys Ann, who died Jan 8, 1904 at Monticello, Iowa.

The deceased is survived by his wife, daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Kiser, and their children, Clara, Grant and Dorothy. Also by Theodore and Catherine, children of Clark D. Albertson who died in Denver when Theodore was not quite three years old and two weeks before Catherine was born. Seven days after Catherine's birth, the mother passed into the Great Beyond, and the two orphan children came immediately to live with the grandparents, who have done all that an own father and mother could do for them.

Two sisters, Mrs. Mary Like, of Blue Earth, Minnesota; Mrs. Susie Sanders, of Lamar, Kansas, and one brother, J.J. Albertson, of Kingman, Kansas, also survive him.

Mr. Albertson moved to Kansas in 1886, and bought the homestead, which he has always owned. Twice since then he returned to Iowa or a few years residence, but for the most part, he had lived in Kansas, where he had been interested in the business of farming, auctioneering and real estate.

He was converted at Lamar when a young man about thirty three years old, where he later filled the position of S.S. superintendent and teacher. At the present time he holds a membership in the Delphos Presbyterian Church, where he was an honored elder, trustee, treasurer, and teacher of the Men's Bible class, at the time of his death.

About fourteen years ago he became a member of the IOOF lodge 149 of Delphos, in which he has always taken a deep interest.

Three years ago his health began to fail, and although all was done that could be by medical skill and kind loving relatives and friends, God called him home.

He was a good husband and lover to his mate, and a kind and loving father to his children, son-in-law, and grandchildren.

He was an exemplary citizen, always interested in the up-building of the community, church, school and fraternal organizations; always faithful in his work and duties toward the right, as God gave him light to see the right.
