Emma was born the daughter of Emil and Augusta (Osterkamp) Roepke on a farm near Waterville, Kansas. She lived most of her life south of Waterville and went to the Cottage Hill School.
She married Elmer J. Anderson on May 4, 1926, at Swede Creek Evangelical Church parsonage near Randolph. He died March 23, 1948. Emma then moved into Waterville on May 3, 1952. She passed away at the Blue Valley Nursing Home in Blue Rapids, KS.
She is survived by her daughter and husband, Lela and Ray McCray; two sons, Wayne and Dean; a sister Lillie Reedy; five brothers, Fred, Elmer, LeRoy, Clarence and Milton.; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
