GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — Services for Jeannette Lillian Trumps Ash, 73, of Belton will be 11 a.m. Friday at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home in Great Barrington, Mass.
Burial will be in Stockbridge Cemetery in Stockbridge, Mass.
Mrs. Ash died Wednesday, May 5, in Marengo, Ill.
She was born Dec. 29, 1936, in Goshen, Conn., to Benjamin and Lillian Smith Brazie. She moved to the Stockbridge area in the early 1940s. After finishing school at the former Williams High School in Stockbridge, she moved to Louisiana. She married Leo Trumps and he preceded her in death in 1995. She then moved to Interlaken in 1968. She was a cook at the former Stockbridge Plain School, Joe's Diner in Lee and at the former DeSisto School in Stockbridge. In the late 1970s she moved to Louisiana where she was a cook at several hotels in the Lake Charles area. In 1989 she moved to Belton. She then married Herbert Ash. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Belton.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, James Trumps of Lee, Mass., Joseph Trumps of Keller and Regan McDowell of Westlake, La.; a daughter, Patricia Trumps Vlahakis of Marengo, Ill.; two brothers, Francis Brazie of Stockbridge, Mass., and Orville Brazie of Housatonic, Mass; two sisters, Genevieve Dumas of Hartford, Conn., and Lousie Brazie of Great Barrington, Mass.; and nine grandchildren.
Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
