Alice Brennan was born in Bristol S.D., March 10, 1897, and at the age of three weeks was brought to the home of Mrs. Thos. Aide in this city, who reared her to womanhood. Her mother passed away a few weeks later, leaving the infant to the tender care of her aunt. Alice attended the public shools in this city and was known by the name of Alice Aide and treated as a sister by the other children in the family.
In April 1917, she was united in marriage to Wm. Aide of Highland, where they made their home for the past six years. On wed. Feb 22, and event, an event which the young couple had long looked forward to transpired and a little son was born to them at St. Joseph's hospital in this city. All was joy and gladness in the family and the mother seemingly recovered. Later she was taken ill and passed away Sunday, March 18, leaving a young husband and infant son in bereavement.
Mrs. Aide was a lady of bright and cheerful disposition and was a favorite among her schoolmates and friends later in life. Her death at such a time is doubly sad and she is much mourned for in the community. Funeral services were held Wednesday, with Revs. Dr. Ambauen and Fr. Doyle of Highland officiating and interment was at the Catholic cemetary south of the city.
Besides her husband and infant son William Joseph, she leaves to mourn their loss four brothers, John, Walter, Tom and George Brennan, her foster father and mother, Mrs. and Mrs. Thos. Aide, brother George and Joseph Aide and sister Mary.
The out-of-town people attending the funeral were Thomas Aide, Mrs. Will Manning, Miss. M. Manning, Leo Manning, Casper Laufenberg, Mike Keyes, Jack Keyes and wife, Ed. Keyes, Mrs. Paul Pink, Mrs. Bob Delaney, Mrs. Walter Fillbach, Tom Egan, Highland; Mrs. Andy Keyes, daughter Tessie, Mrs. Ed. Baker, Cobb; Mrs. Ed. Ley, Jonesday; Ed Aide, River Falls.
